Re: Fundraising

     I just started looking at fundraisers. What do you do?

I just started looking at fundraisers. What do you do?
We support fundraising with:
* Free posting for events.
* Free Online Brochures for non-profits.
* Local4All Agents as potential partners for your group.
* Online business ads (Sponsorships) as products.

What kind of business ads? How much do they sell for? How much do we make?
Business ads fall into two categories - online pages with links in a directory or just the links. Online pages have Ratings and Testimonials or not, depending on the customer's needs. Prices are found in FAQ - products and nonprofits receive one-third of fees collected, currently between $15 and $60 per sale. (One-third is assuming sales are obtained through volunteers and Local4All Agents are not involved. Nonprofits can still benefit when Agents are involved, but receive less per transaction.) More details can be found here - Agent Compensation Details

Who is eligible?
* Charitable Organizations registered as 501(c)3.
* Special Funds set up by other types of nonprofits (See IRS Pub. 557). such as:
    * Social Welfare Groups - 501(c)4
    * Fraternal Groups - 501(c)8 and 501(c)10
    * Note: Others may qualify. Consult your accountant or tax attorney.

What paperwork is required?
While most data is received through online forms, we ask that fundraising leaders provide a copy of their IRS Determination Letter. Caution:Paying individuals while fundraising may trigger a tax event known as Unrelated Business Income Tax. Consult your accountant or tax attorney if you plan to pay anyone for fundraising. If your Executive Director is involved, you may want to separate 'planning' from 'implementation'.

What is the upfront cost?
Zero.

How do we start?
Volunteers or staff can start the 3-step process:
  1. Step One: Complete this form to show interest and your group will be eligible for bonuses. This offer expires in 7 days if no further action is taken. Click here to start.
  2. Step Two: Duly elected or appointed persons must complete the online process. By completing the form for the second step (Form_recipient_org2.php), the Executive Director or Board of Directors can approve the fundraiser and make sure we have the correct mailing address for checks, etc., as well as the treasurer's name. At this point, there is still no cost and nothing is binding on the nonprofit.
  3. If the organization is 501(c)3, an IRS Determination Letter or Advance Determination Letter is required. If the fundraising is for a special fund that qualifies as a tax deduction for donors, please document as such. Please mail to Local4All.com, 208 N. Jefferson St., 2nd Floor, Kittanning, Pa. 16201.
Note: A Sales Tax Exemption is NOT the same as the document required. The correct document will have come from the IRS and will document which 501(c) status has been granted to the nonprofit.

How and when do we get paid?
Sponsors are instructed to pay funds directly to the nonprofit. You should receive checks directly from them within a few days after they sign up.
